Set on December 06, 2023 at the Sofitel Philippine Plaza, the Hotel and Restaurant Association Biennial Assembly one-day event highlights among others the Election of its Board of Directors for the term 2024-2025.
The event with its theme “Hospitality in the Era of Artificial Intelligence (AI)” , the hottest buzzwords not only in tech but also in almost all our Industry hopes to illuminate our stakeholders and Industry players how they can adopt it or adapt to it.
Renowned speakers on this topic are invited, Prof John Paolo Rivera, an economist with an extensive research portfolio in areas of economics, management and tourism will speak on “The Economic & Consumer Landscape” and globally famous Mr. Dominic Vincent Ligot, founder and CEO and CTO of CirroLytix will be speaking on the topic “Hospitality in the Era of Artificial Intelligence (AI)”.
The event begins with the keynote message from DOT Usec. Shahlimar Hofer Tamano of Department of Tourism Regulation, Coordination and Resource Generation(TRCRG).
The culmination of the event is the election of the Board Of Directors which has been re-scheduled because of the previous pandemic. By the end of the day a new elected set of Board of Directors will be announced.

Shalimar Hofer Tamano is currently the Undersecretary of the Department of Tourism for Tourism Regulation, Coordination and Resource Generation and the concurrent Regional Director of Region VII.
Undersecretary Tamano supervises the Office of Tourism and Standards and Regulations which handles accreditation of tourism enterprise and establishments, the Office of Industry Manpower Development, that focuses on providing quality trainings and capacity building to our tourism workforce and the 16 DOT Regional Offices across the country.. Further, he is also the Tourism Secretary’s alternate representative to different inter-agency boards such as the Civil Aeronautics Board (CAB), the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP), the Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA), the Davao International Airport Authority (DIAA), the Philippine Air Panel and various committees on infrastructure development, gateway enhancement and connectivity, and tourism dive development

John Paolo R. Rivera is an economist with an extensive research portfolio in the areas of economics, management, and tourism. This includes his attendance in a succession of both international and local conferences, and authorship of numerous scientific and technical publications. He is also an educator delivering courses and capability enhancement training at the undergraduate, graduate, executive, and community levels.
He is also a subject matter expert engaged in various research & management, consulting with the private and public sector. He obtained his Doctor of Philosophy in Economics and Bachelor of Science in Applied Economics (magna cum laude) from De La Salle University School of Economics. He is the president and chief economist Oikonomia Advisory & Research, Inc. He is currently the OIC executive director of the Asian Institure of Management – Dr. Andrew L. Tan Center for Tourism.
