Membership Criteria

If you're not a member of the Hotel & Restaurant Association (HRAP), you and your hotel are missing out on countless benefits that save you valuable time and money! Take advantage of terrific benefits that will surely help your properties run more efficiently and profitably.

Regular Members

1) Duly licensed hotels, resorts, apartelles, pension houses, and transport establishments with accommodation facilities and/or foodservice facilities;

2) Duly licensed restaurants, clubs, pubs, bistros, music lounges, catering and quick-service establishments and similar establishments that provide foodservice facilities

Provided that the REGULAR MEMBERS are represented in the Association by the OWNER or his duly designated GENERAL MANAGER.

Allied   Members

Suppliers of hotels, restaurants, resorts, inns, clubs and similar establishments and entities and persons whether juridical or natural who have great interest in the development of the hospitality and tourist industries.

Associate Members

Schools offering Hotel & Restaurant degree courses. These shall include universities, colleges, institutes and cooking schools offering hotel & restaurant management, administration degree programs and/or tourism oriented courses, which have interest in contributing to the development of the hospitality and tourist industry.

Chapter Members

These are Chapter organizations within the framework of the Association located in any province or chartered city in the Philippines (except Metro Manila ) .

Honorary Members

Persons who have rendered long years of outstanding service to the Association either as officers or members. Other qualifications shall be determined by two-third (2/3) votes of the current Board of Directors upon the time of applications.

Life Members

Persons who have rendered long years of outstanding service to the Association either as officers or members. Other qualifications shall be determined by two-third (2/3) votes of the current Board of Directors upon the time of applications

Individual Members

Persons who have held senior positions in the Hotel & Restaurant Industry, such as any of the following :

a) A former general manager who has a known record of performance in the industry and who wishes to keep in touch with colleagues in the industry.

b) A department level manager in the Hospitality industry whose current employer is already a member of the HRAP but wishes to attend the annual General Membership Meetings, other HRAP seminars and training programs and wishes to receive general communications/circulars from HRAP to keep abreast of industry events and developments

c) A professional/department level manager who is a member of one of HRAP’s affiliate organization who also wishes to attend related HRAP seminars, training programs, especially those directly related to his/her current position.

d) A person who owns, manages a hotel and restaurant in the provinces where there is no established (Chapter); but wishes to access HRAP annual meetings, seminars, training programs and who wishes to receive HRAP general circulations.

Hospitality Student Members

Fourth (4th) year HRM students in an HRAP member establishment with high academic grades and who wishes to be in included in the HRAP Jop-referral System upon graduation. Membership under this category is only a period of one (1 ) year from admission.

New Member Entry

Application to become member shall be made by submission of HRAP Membership application to the Secretariat Office, provided that required documentations as listed in the form is also submitted.

Application for membership shall be considered by the Board upon sponsorship/endorsement of two (2) members of the Association and the favorable recommendation of the Committee on Membership.

The application shall then be forwarded the next HRAP Board of Directors Meeting review and consideration. HRAP Board shall have the absolute discretion to accept or reject an application without assigning any reasons whatsoever.

A formal Notice of Approval shall be given to the Applicant with the attached Statement of Account for admission fees and membership dues. Official Membership to the Association is subject to payment of the required fees and membership dues.
